Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

Dear Parents/Guardians

The Sacraments of First Reconciliation (First Confession) and First Eucharist will be celebrated at St Peter the Fisherman Church, Laurieton. To be eligible to receive the Sacraments of First Eucharist and Reconciliation, your child must have received the Sacraments of Baptism and usually Confirmation and be in Year 4 or above.

  •         The Sacrament of First Reconciliation:  Thursday 25th August 2022 at 5:00pm St Peter the Fisherman Church, Laurieton
  •         The Sacrament of First Eucharist (First Communion): Sunday 11th September 2022 at 9:00 am St Peter the Fisherman Church, Laurieton

If you wish to register your child for these Sacraments, please complete the form below and the Parish Registration Form will be sent to you.

The Registration Form needs to be returned to the School or the Parish Office as soon as possible with $10 to cover some of the cost of medals, cake and materials supplied for the Sacrament.

The parent/student reflection evening will be held on Wednesday 10th August from 5pm-6pm. This is where more information will be given to families and students will learn alongside their parent/s or carer/s. Students will undertake the bulk of their learning on the Sacraments during Religious Education Lessons with Mr Marshall and also participate in a mini reflection day and rehearsal (Date TBC) in preparation for their Sacraments.

As parents of Catholic children you are encouraged to support your children to participate in these important occasions when God is able to pour out His Graces abundantly on His sons and daughters. It is expected that Candidates would make efforts to attend as many weekend masses with an adult in the lead up to the Sacrament.

We appreciate the continued support you give your children and we look forward to meeting you at these special times. If you have any queries please contact Maria Wilson at school or phone the Parish Office.

Kind regards,

Maria Wilson
