This week, our school community observed National Reconciliation Week ( NRW), a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The National Reconciliation Week theme for 2024, Now More Than Ever, is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue.
We extend our thanks to Josh Wright, our dedicated Indigenous Education Worker, who has been leading enriching learning activities across all classrooms this week. Through his efforts, our students have gained deeper insights into the significance of the week and the lasting impact of reconciliation. We look forward to sharing some of our students’ reflections and learnings in next week’s newsletter.
New Desks for Years 3 to 6!
Years 3 to 6 have been asking for new desks since 2021 and after much consultation with students and teachers, we ordered them earlier this year. Yesterday, our delivery arrived to the excitement of the students. They got a massive “thumbs up” from the students who were excited to set their classrooms up.
Celebrating Blake Steep’s NRL Debut!
Congratulations to ex-student Blake Steep who will make his NRL debut this Sunday for the Roosters. Blake shows us that achieving your dreams requires hard work and dedication and he is a wonderful role model for our students.
