School Athletics Carnival
We were blessed with a beautiful day for the Athletics Carnival yesterday. It was wonderful to see all the students participating with such enthusiasm and displaying great sportsmanship throughout the day. A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Michael Marshall and Bec Faddy, whose outstanding coordination made the day possible. We also extend our gratitude to all the staff and parents whose efforts and support ensured the smooth running of the carnival. Congratulations to Callistemon, the overall house winner of the day. We are incredibly proud of all our students and thankful to our community for coming together to make the Athletics Carnival a memorable and successful event.
Parent and Teacher Interviews in Week 10
Parents and carers are invited to attend a face-to-face meeting with your child's class teacher during Week 10 of this term, following the release of written reports. Bookings for these meetings are available in the Conferences module on Compass, which opened on Wednesday, June 19th. This information should also appear on your homepage when you open the app. Please select an available time slot that suits your schedule. If you are unable to find a suitable time, please contact your child's class teacher directly to discuss alternative arrangements. We look forward to seeing all parents engage in this valuable process to support your child's learning at school.
First Holy Communion
This Sunday, June 23rd, some of our year 4 students will make their First Holy Communion at 9 am., followed by a celebration in the Parish Hall. We hope lots of families will support this momentous occasion. Families are welcome to bring a plate to share for morning tea or just come along. We have a big cake to celebrate with.
Family Faith Night
On Saturday 29th June, we will hold a Family Faith Night. We haven’t done it in this format before. We are being joined by some special guests and are looking forward to lots of families to come along. AN EVENT IS NOW IN COMPASS.
Plan:
5 pm Mass
6 pm Gather in Parish Hall - Student games, shared dinner (bring a dish), faith sharing, activities
7:30 pm Conclude
Students must be accompanied by their parents or responsible adult.
Please RSVP ASAP via Compass Events.
Incitare
On Wednesday our Year 6 students participated in Incitare. We were so lucky to have the Yr 10 CSYMA class from Regional College join us as well as the Year 6 students from St Joseph’s Port Macquarie.
It was a fantastic day during which we delved into how to be courageous, how to be a leader, and how to grow our faith. The day was filled with games, discussions, songs, and prayer and ended with a beautiful liturgy prepared by the students.
Incitare is just one of the faith events in our discipleship continuum, which starts in Year 4 with “Accenture” and Year 5 with “Exuro”.
Best wishes from the leadership team

Being an Active Listener
For the remainder of the term we are focussing on being Active Listeners.
Active listening is a part of communication that involves paying full attention to what the speaker is saying and trying to understand it by reacting and responding thoughtfully. Active Listening is an important skill in each of our 3R’s, being Respectful, Responsible and Resilient.
Some ways to show our active listening include:
- Making eye contact
- Face the speaker
- Nod your head
- Wait for the speaker to stop speaking before speaking
- Repeat back what you have heard
- Keep hands and feet still
- Ask questions
- Ignore distractions
- Tell the speaker if you understand or don’t understand
- Focus on what is being said
While we will continue to give ‘Calm and Kind cards’ whilst on the playground, we will now also have ‘Active Listening’ cards for in the classroom. Our students can earn these cards which will continue to go into the raffle to be drawn each Monday morning, to win Canteen vouchers.
Thank you to our Wellbeing leaders, Max, Logan, Brax and Bella who designed our Active Listening card and continue to lead our behaviour focuses each week.
We look forward to seeing our students blossom into Active Listeners!
