Congratulations
Congratulations to Mrs Hayward and year 5 & 6 students of St Joseph’s Primary School for WINNING the prestigious Stand Out School of the Year Award for $20 Boss 2023! This national recognition highlights our school’s exceptional dedication to cultivating a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit. As part of the award, St Joseph’s will receive a $5,000 Young Change Agents prize pack.
A special congratulations goes to Daya for receiving a Highly Commended nomination (runner-up prize) for her business! (More information below)
Creative Arts Showcase
It’s all getting very exciting, with less than two weeks until showtime. Please make sure you have read and responded to the Compass event notification for all the details about the show, including costuming requirements for your child, food organisation and questions that all parents need to acknowledge.
Of course, be sure you have purchased tickets to see the show. The 5:30 pm show is now sold out, so only the Wednesday 12:00 and Thursday 3:30 pm shows are still available.
We need volunteers on Thursday afternoon (3:30-5:30 p.m.) to assist with cooking the BBQ and serving food. As a thank you for your support, those who volunteer for us will get first-choice reserve seating with their purchased tickets for the 5:30 p.m. show. Please indicate through the Compass notification if you can help in this way.
We look forward to seeing our whole school community come together for a fun and entertaining event where all our students will shine on stage!
Drama Workshops
Years 5 and 6 students were so lucky to have had the opportunity this week to engage with Monkey Baa Theatre actor Jono. He shared his skills and knowledge with our students in preparation for them to see the amazing Theatre Production, The Peasant Prince, in week 10.
Students learnt skills of focus, engagement, creativity and the process actors go through to bring a story to life on stage. This unique insight and practical acting workshop challenged our students with skills out of their comfort zone. We are very proud of what they accomplished in the lessons. Be sure to check out their great photos!
Confirmation
We will welcome Bishop Homeming on Monday 16th September for the Sacrament of Confirmation. We are hoping for some siblings and good singers to be part of the Angel Choir. A note will come home next week.
Please pray for the children making this special Sacrament.
Best wishes from the leadership team

On Tuesday, we had the exciting opportunity to attend the $20 Boss National Awards online, hosted by Young Change Agents, the organization behind the $20 Boss initiative. We were honored to be invited as several of our students were finalists for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and our school was also nominated for the Stand Out School of the Year Award. Joining students and schools from across the country, we were incredibly impressed by the outstanding business ideas and achievements showcased throughout the awards showcase.
We are thrilled to announce and celebrate the remarkable successes of our $20 Boss Award finalists and winners!

A special congratulations goes to Daya for receiving a Highly Commended nomination (runner-up prize) for her business, Little Bird Face Painting! As part of her prize, Daya will receive $250 in seed funding and two virtual mentoring sessions to provide guidance and support on her business journey.
We would also like to extend our congratulations to Eli, Oliver, and Max for their business, Jellyboard Boys, and Leah for her business, Butterfly Hair Ties, both of which were nominated as finalists.
