A Joyful Beginning: Recap of Our First Joey's Juniors Session
We were thrilled to welcome our new Joey's Junior students and their parents/carers for the 2025 school year on Thursday. The children participated in a variety of social play activities, such as drawing, building with blocks and Lego, enjoying stories, and singing along to some old favourite tunes. The Kinder Team was incredibly proud to see the children fully engage in each activity, demonstrating great enthusiasm and readiness for the upcoming school year.
In conjunction, we hosted an informative session for both new and existing parents/carers. This session not only provided a perfect opportunity for them to connect with each other but also allowed us to introduce our new 2025 Kinder Teaching team—Mrs. Kristan Nichols, Mrs. Natalie Hurell, and Ms. Hilary Burch, our Teacher’s Assistant. Additionally, during this session, our School Counselor, Rebecca Jamieson, offered invaluable insights into how parents/ carers can support their child's transition to school. She also identified various ways they could assist in further developing their child’s self-regulation and emotional control through using The Zones of Regulation framework.
We look forward to next week’s Joey's Juniors session and continuing to support our future Kinders and their families on their exciting educational journey!
Remembrance Day Activities
On Friday, we welcomed our RSL representatives to view our students' "Draw to Remember" artwork in observance of Remembrance Day. This artwork is part of our commitment to help students understand the significance of Remembrance Day and to express their reflections through art. It was a meaningful experience for everyone involved, and the representatives were impressed by the thoughtfulness and creativity displayed in the students' work. This coming Monday, the Year 4 students will represent our school at the Laurieton Cenotaph for this year's Remembrance Day Service. For the parents of Year 4 students, could you please ensure that your child is dressed in their full school uniform, including their sports/excursion shirt, for this event?
Best wishes from the leadership team
