A Fantastic Adventure at The Great Aussie Bush Camp!
On Monday morning, our Year 5 and 6 students embarked on an unforgettable three-day school camp adventure at the Great Aussie Bush Camp!
Throughout the camp, our students participated in a variety of exciting activities designed to challenge them and build their confidence. They soared through the air on the Giant Swing, tested their balance on the High Ropes, and experienced the thrill of the Power Fan.
Additionally, they refined their archery skills and demonstrated impressive teamwork during raft building. Each activity provided an opportunity to learn new skills and strengthen friendships.
A huge thank you goes out to our dedicated staff who accompanied the students. Their commitment ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We also extend our gratitude to the instructors at The Great Aussie Bush Camp, whose expertise and friendliness made our stay both comfortable and rewarding. We are incredibly proud of our Year 5 and 6 students for their great enthusiasm and a positive attitude throughout the camp. Their ability to embrace new challenges and work together as a team was wonderful to witness.
See Facebook for more photos, plus they will be shared with Year 5 and 6 students in their Google drive.
Remembrance Day
On Monday we continued our observance of Remembrance Day following our Draw to Remember project last Friday. Students in K-3 held a liturgy in the hall while Year 4 represented the school at the community commemoration ceremony at the Laurieton Memorial Park Cenotaph. Maddi and Tom laid a wreath on behalf of the school and many community members commented on how beautifully behaved and reverent our students were. The significance of this day was captured in the words of Tom ‘It was so nice and a bit sad to be able to hear the stories of the war and I felt proud to lay the wreath’.
Good luck Stage 2 Todd Woodbridge Team!
Ten players from Years 3 and 4 are heading off to Sydney as a team to represent our school in the Todd Woodbridge State Tennis finals at Olympic Park. We wish them much success and enjoyment!
STEM Mad National Showcase
Good luck to Harry Shean, Willem de Vries and Gideon Fogg who are travelling to the STEM Mad National Awards in Brisbane next week.
Haircuts
Please be reminded that accordinging to our uniform policy, no extreme haircuts are permitted at school. This includes ‘mullets’, ‘partial fades’ and ‘cut designs’. Hair should be of normal and even length, long hair tied back, and of natural colour.
Highlights from our Second Joey’s Juniors Session
Yesterday we had another successful Joey’s Juniors session. The session kicked off with engaging group activities, where the children had the opportunity to interact, share and play together in a structured setting. They also enjoyed a craft activity that helped in developing their fine motor skills. Storytime was another highlight of the session capturing the children’s imagination and enhancing their listening and comprehension skills.
This week’s parent education workshop was led by our Assistant Principal of Learning and Teaching, Mrs Jess Koeing, and our Leader of Learning, Kristan Nichols. They shared valuable suggestions to support learning at home in readiness for the English and Mathematics curriculum in Kindergarten and beyond. Parents also received a learning pack courtesy of our Diocesan Parent Assembly for their child.
Best wishes from the leadership team
