Confirmation
On Monday evening, three of our students joined with students from other schools to make their Confirmation. We were blessed to have our Bishop Gregory Homeming celebrate the evening with Fr Michael. Thank you to Mrs Steep for preparing the children, to all the families and parish for their support and to the parish choir who made it such a beautiful celebration.
Congratulations children. May you be filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit!
On Tuesday Bishop Greg visited our school and spoke to all the students. He asked the students to always try to do what is right, to be kind to each other and to reach out to those that need a friend.
School Camp
Today, our Year 5 and 6 students returned from their three-day camp at The Coffs Adventure Centre. The students participated in a variety of activities, including the giant swing, the skywire, Z Ball, and the commando course. They also showed their collaborative spirit during canoeing and the survivor activities. It was great to see their enthusiasm and positive attitude as they embraced each new challenge.
A huge thank you goes out to our staff, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Peck, Mrs. Toole, and Crystal, whose dedication and commitment ensured a safe experience for all. We would also like to thank the instructors at the Coffs Adventure Centre for their friendliness and expertise.
We are proud of all our students. Their willingness to step outside their comfort zones and work together was a highlight of the camp.

Todd Woodbridge Cup - Stage 3
On Monday, 27 Stage 3 children represented our school at the Todd Woodbridge Cup. The teams played 10 rounds against other local schools. Throughout the day the children showed great sportsmanship, friendship and leadership. The canteen volunteers noted the excellent manners of the students and the coaches noticed great tennis improvement over the day.
Congratulations to all the students who have given up lots and lots of lunchtimes to train. Out of 7 teams, our 3 teams placed 1st, 4th and 5th. A wonderful achievement which shows the depth of our tennis talent here at Joey’s. The winning team (and subs) will now move onto the Regional Championships at Kendall on Monday, 20th October.

Stage One Takes a Step Back in Time at Timbertown!
On Thursday, our adventurous Stage 1 students travelled back in time during their excursion to Timbertown! With the sun shining and perfect weather on their side, the children explored this charming historical village. From the very start, excitement was in the air as students tried their luck at gold panning – with a few lucky prospectors striking it rich (well, almost!). They enjoyed bumpy and fun tractor and carriage rides, offering a taste of old-fashioned travel, before visiting the impressive steam sawmill, where the noise and power of the machinery left everyone in awe. One of the highlights of the day was the scenic steam train journey, which chugged its way through the bushland, followed by fun on the mini train rides. The children also wandered past historic cottages and old-style shops, marvelling at how different life used to be.
It was a day filled with curiosity, joy, and hands-on learning – a true adventure that brought history to life in the most memorable way.
Best wishes from the leadership team

Polding Athletics
A huge congratulations to three of our incredible athletes who represented our School and the Zone in Newcastle last Friday at the Polding Athletics Carnival.
A big congratulations to our super star Courtney, who dominated her events and came in first place in her 100m sprint, 200m, shot put, discus, and long jump. With these amazing results, Courtney was awarded Age Group Champion in her division. We are so proud of you Court!
We also want to congratulate Madison and Maddi for their fantastic efforts. Madi competed with great skill in the high jump, placing 11th and Maddi showed her strength in discus, finishing 18th overall. Congratulations girls!
