Leadership Report

Zone Winter Sports Trials and Zone Swimming Carnival

This week began with the Zone Winter Sports Trials on Monday and the Zone Swimming Carnival on Tuesday. We are proud of all the students who participated and congratulate those chosen to represent the Hastings Zone at the next level. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Nat Hurrell for her exceptional coordination of these events. We also appreciate the efforts of all staff members who supported our students at these events, providing encouragement and guidance that greatly contributed to their success and positive experiences.

Parent Information Night Success and Parent-to-Teacher Chats

It was wonderful to catch up with parents and carers at our Parent Information Night on Wednesday. We thank our dedicated staff for organising and hosting these informative sessions, and we appreciate all parents and carers for their support by attending. We would love to receive your feedback on this event so we can review and improve our processes in the future. Please click on this LINK by Monday at 12 pm.

Parent-to-teacher chats continue next week, so please remember to book a time slot with your child’s class teacher. There are still available timeslots, so please go to Compass and click on the Conferences tab to book. The 'Parent to Teacher' meetings provide a valuable opportunity for you to discuss your child’s learning preferences, well-being, and other important matters directly with their class teacher. For more details, please refer to the Compass News feed sent to families on Tuesday, February 11th.

Opening School Mass

Our week concluded with the Opening School Mass on Friday, a day filled with community spirit. It was a day of significant milestones: our school leaders were honoured with their leadership badges, symbolising their commitment and responsibility for the year ahead. We warmly and officially welcomed our new kindergarten students and staff, embracing them into our school family. The Choir enhanced our music ministry, and we were immensely proud of all the students for their participation in the Mass.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Mrs. Maria Wilson for coordinating the Mass. Her dedication and hard work ensured the Opening School Mass was successful and meaningful for our students, staff, and the broader school community.

School Community Group Meeting

We had a fantastic roll-up to our School Community Group (SCG) Meeting on Monday night. At this meeting, we reviewed the structure of the SCG, discussed the events, fundraising and friend-raising from 2024, and began planning for 2025.

The full minutes can be found below.

Over the next few weeks, we will finalise the Class Parents and advertise them to the community. If you haven't let your class teacher know you are interested, please do so by next week. Fiona Hayward will be the school liaison for this subgroup.

Some Fundraising/events groups have started, and these groups are looking for volunteers to support this work. We have a “lead” contact for these events that the group wanted to proceed with, but as we know, many hands make light work. If you are interested in knowing more or are ready to help, please complete this google form, and we will share your details with the "lead" parent for that event. Maria Wilson will be the school liaison for this sub-group.

Family Welcome Night

All families are warmly welcome to join us for our first social gathering of the year. On Saturday 1st March our school will join the parish in a beautiful Mass at 5pm, then wander over to the school where we will have a family picnic, silent disco and lawn games.

Families are encouraged to bring their own picnic dinner and a rug. The picnic will start after the Mass. The night will conclude at around 8pm.
