Family Faith Night

On Saturday, despite wet conditions, 75 parents and children came together for our Family Faith Night. The children sang beautifully in the choir accompanied by our parishioners, and our students read and took up the gifts. We then joined together in the parish hall, where families shared lots of delicious meals, the children created their own Grace prayers, performed a play based on the Gospel and created treasures out of clay.

We are very lucky to have such a wonderful community and are thankful to the parents, parishioners and staff who made this night so wonderful. 

Wellbeing Night

We have 150 people who have indicated they will be attending our Well Being Night on Monday 11th August. We have some wonderful guest speakers on the night. We have already organised catering, however if you forgot to RSVP, there is room for Parents to attend the workshops and just bring your own food. Please call the office so they can add your name.

On the night, families are encouraged to arrive from 5:20pm. You will need to sign in (there will be iPads and QR codes around), and also create a name tag. 

Take your children to the Library and sign them in. 

Then head down to the Hall for Big Brother Pizza, Garlic Bread, Tea/Coffee and Juice.

Children will be fed around 5:40-6pm, to allow 20 mins for 75 children to sign in. They will have Pizza, Garlic bread, nuggets, juice and a fruit platter. Please bring own water bottle and remember your Winter Pyjamas.

At 5:55pm we will head off to Session 1 (your choice), followed by two other 20 min sessions of your choice. We will conclude with an evaluation and then you can pick up your child from the Library.

School Community Group Meeting

We are excited to share some of the updates from this week’s School Community Group meeting.

During the meeting, we highlighted the excellent attendance and positive feedback from the Family Faith Night, and also shared the school's progress with our 2025 Whole School Goals. We discussed the organisation for the upcoming Soccer and Netball Gala Day, Father’s Day Event, and stall. We also received an update from the New Playground Committee and finalised the date for the Term 4 Fundraising event - Colour Run, which will support the implementation of the new adventure playgrounds.

Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for the next SCG meeting scheduled for Week 3, Term 4; Monday, 27th October at 6pm.

NAPLAN Results 2025

The NAPLAN 2025 results have been released, and individual student reports were distributed to parents last week. NAPLAN provides a snapshot of student achievement across four assessments conducted in Term One for students in Years 3 and 5.

The results show how individual students, grade levels, and the school are performing in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar, and Numeracy. These are measured within four performance bands: Exceeding, Strong (above proficiency), Developing, and Needs Support (below proficiency). Results are compared against school, similar schools, State, and National averages.

We are pleased to share that some of our Year 3 and Year 5 results and whole-school areas continue to perform above State and National benchmarks. There has also been encouraging growth in some areas, alongside clear opportunities for improvement which we are committed to addressing.

In summary, our strengths are as follows:

- Consistently high achievement in writing in both Years 3 and 5 with our school scoring above all other averages

- In our current Year 5 grade, every student showed growth between Year 3 and Year 5 (2023-2025)

- Year 5 Reading showed great results being higher than the State average and higher results than last year.

- Year 3 Grammar and Punctuation and Spelling showed good overall achievement

In summary, our areas for improvement are as follows:

- Reading in Year 3 

- Numeracy in Year 3 and 5 

- Spelling and Grammar in Year 5

Numeracy, Spelling, and Grammar have been key focus areas in our current whole-school goals, with the aim of seeing continued improvement in future NAPLAN results.

These results will also be available on the MySchools website soon. We plan to provide a more detailed overview of the results at the upcoming School Community Group (SCG) meeting in Term 4. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s individual results, we encourage you to arrange a meeting with your child’s Class Teacher to discuss this in more detail. Please remember that NAPLAN is one of several measures used to assess student and school performance against national standards. It is important to consider multiple sources of data when setting future goals and planning strategies. This year’s results will play a key role in our whole-school strategic planning for 2026.
