Speech and Drama Eisteddfod Success

Last weekend, over 40 of our talented students represented the school at the annual Speech and Drama Eisteddfod. We would like to extend our congratulations to all the students for their incredible achievements and for demonstrating such confidence and skill on the stage.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Toole for coordinating all our students and to both Mrs. Toole and Mrs. Egan for their dedication in preparing our students. Their commitment to giving up their lunchtimes to practice with students, both individually and in their groups, was invaluable and contributed greatly to the students' success. We are so proud of everyone's hard work!

Confirmation

Today, Year 3 had a Confirmation Reflection Day. A day to reflect on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the love of Jesus and the communion of saints who we, as Christians, aspire to emulate. Thank you to Mrs Steep for organising such a wonderful day for the students.

On Monday 15th, we will gather in the church at 5pm to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. All friends, family and singers are evry welcome to attend.

We have been praying for our young people, that they may receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

CONFIRMATION PRAYER

Spirit of God, grant me:

The gift of wisdom To see the world through your eyes,

The gift of counsel To make difficult decisions,

The gifts of knowledge and understanding To use my mind to know you and to love you,

The gift of fortitude To have the courage to live in the faith Despite the difficulties and disappointments,

The gift of piety To be able to express my special love And commitment to you,

And the right kind of awesome fear That makes me pause to wonder and revere God’s Love.

Amen.

R U OK? Day!

On Thursday the 11th of September, we celebrated R U OK? Day with a special focus on connecting with each other and building a supportive school community. It was a day to remember that a simple question can make a big difference!

We started the day together as a whole school with a whole school meditation session in the hall. This was a wonderful way to take a few moments as a whole school, to be still and to remind us to be better listeners and be more present for others.

Students returned to their classrooms and throughout the day completed an R U OK? Day activity. These activities helped reinforce the importance of asking "Are you okay?", listening to our friends, and knowing how to support each other. We had a great time learning how to take care of each other, to be a good friend and classmate!
