NEW CAR PARK PICK UP PROCEDURES

THE FOLLOWING CAR PARK PICK UP PLAN REFLECTS PARENT FEEDBACK AND FOCUSES ON:

  • SAFETY FOR ALL IN AND AROUND CARS
  • CHILD PROTECTION
  • AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PARENTS TO SOCIALISE
  • EFFICIENCY OF PROCESSES SO THAT PARENTS CAN GET AWAY QUICKLY

ALL CURRENT HOME TIME PROCEDURES WILL BE OFFERED TO FAMILIES

  • The school continues to offer the drive-through service and all other services every day. This will not change as the feedback from parents (and the bus company) is that they love it and it is much more effective and safe.
  • Please remember that coming after 3:12 pm helps you to avoid the dirt track.

NEW PICK UP SERVICE - From Friday 4th March 2022:

  • The school will add an “In-School” pick up option each day
  • Students using pick-up (whether by car or in-person) will all assemble in the hall (they are very good at this part)
  • Parents park on the Ocean Drive side of the car park where possible and enter through the double gates outside the office. MASKS WORN UNTIL 7TH MARCH.
  • Parents can enter the school from 2:45 pm and mingle/socialise on the seats outside the office. Parents must wait inside the gate, please. Please do not wait near classrooms/canteen or other areas. Children will only be dismissed from the hall to ensure no strangers pick up your child.
  • Students picked up in person will be sent to their parents first, (with car park pick up to follow immediately afterwards).
  • Parents take their children to the double gates and wait to be crossed by the teacher.
  • The gate teacher will cross groups of families at a time that does not interfere with the flow of traffic.

Assembly: On assembly days, children will be allowed to leave the assembly with their class and return to their family members sitting outside the hall. They may leave from 2:55pm to clear the car park. Please remember that you must sign in if you are going to the hall.

What if I park elsewhere?

  • Parents can park at the preschool end of the car park or park in the Parish car park. If parents choose to park at that end, they need to leave via the canteen gate or Gowrie gate and stay on the footpath around this turning bay.
  • Parents should park ‘rear to kerb’ if possible when they plan to leave during “rush hour”. This allows you to drive straight out without hindering the turning traffic.
  • Parents may, as a last resort, park on the bus bay side of the car park. If parents park here, they need to leave via the year 4 gate and follow the bus path to turn their car around. Please do not walk through the front of the bus lines. This option would only be suitable for families who leave after 3:10.

Light Green - Cross at the crossing. Park rear to the kerb where possible. Great option but limited places to park.
Dark Green - Path to Parish Car Park - Leave via the Canteen gate. A great option especially on busy days when the car park is full.
Yellow - Leave via the canteen gate. Follow the footpath around the car park - (don't cross the road in the middle of the turning bay). Park rear to the kerb to maintain traffic flow. Good option if you are happy to leave later.
Red - The last resort. Would prefer no one parked there. If you have to, leave via year 4 gate and then join the bus queue to a u-turn out of there. Much safer if you leave after 3:10.
ALL STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED FROM THE HALL - PLEASE WAIT AT THE OFFICE SEATS
